On April 9, the signing ceremony of the cooperation and joint construction between the BJAST and Beijing School was held. Fang Li, secretary of the Leading Party Member’s Group of the BJAST and other leaders attended the meeting. Liu Jinzhen, secretary of Party Committee of the Beijing School, presided over the meeting.

The BJAST and Beijing School signed a formal agreement on cooperation between the two parties. The two parties will use the science education resources of the BJAST and the facilities resources of the Beijing school to introduce exhibitions and displays into the school to bring science education activities to teachers and students, jointly organize teachers and students to carry out practical activities in the science popularization units of the BJAST, organize research studies, jointly develop the training of scientific and technological innovation talents, and provide support for Beijing School’s "popular science drama" and other related characteristic clubs and summer camp activities, jointly organize teacher training activities to improve the scientific literacy of teachers and scientific and technological instructors, jointly hold characteristic science popularization activities for the sub-center or exhibitions, give play to the synergy of social education and spread innovative development concepts.

Fang Li ,the secretary of the Leading Party Member’s Group of the BJAST and Liu Xiaohui, president of the Beijing School, jointly unveiled the "BJAST Science and Technology Innovation Education Base", and Beijing School has officially become the basic education practice base of the BJAST. At the same time, the affiliated units of BJAST, Beijing Planetarium, Beijing Museum of Natural History, Beijing Milu Ecological Research Center and Beijing Science and Technology Publishing Co., Ltd have brought more than 500 educational and teaching equipment, exhibits and various books and materials, including 5 astronomical telescopes, 3 meteorite specimens, 26 biological specimens, 6 models of ancient astronomical observation instruments, 4 peacocks, etc.

At the ceremony, students from the Beijing School Drama Club performed the popular science show "the Little Milu Going Home" originally created by the Beijing Milu Ecological Research Center for the guests. 

Liu Xiaohui pointed out that the cooperation and co-construction between Beijing School and BJAST would provide impetus for the promotion of the school. The school should rely on the popular science resources of the BJAST, integrate into all aspects of the school's cultural construction, and explore a new way of cooperation  between research institute and school.

Fang Li pointed out that the BJAST will give full play to the characteristic advantages of science and technology resources, focus on the needs of Beijing School, and take the construction of science and technology innovation education base as an important starting point to serve the sub center of the city, so as to provide strong support for the construction of the sub center of the city.
