The letter pointed out that the results of scientific research are inseparable from the participation and support of the Beijing Municipal Institute of Labor Protection, and thanked the Beijing Municipal Institute of Labor Protection for its work and efforts in participating in the epidemic prevention and control emergency scientific research project.

With the outbreak of the COVID-19 in 2020, protective masks are important medical supplies for epidemic prevention and control. At the beginning of the epidemic, there is a huge gap between the supply capacity of masks and the demand for anti-epidemic. The Beijing Municipal Institute of Labor Protection, together with Beijing University of Chemical Technology and many other units, undertook research on the “Key Technologies and Industrialization of Reusable Protective Masks” from the Ministry of Science and Technology, and developed export mask reuse technologies and products, turning disposable masks into reusable masks. While ensuring safety, it can increase the effective use time of protective masks several times or even more than ten times, and quickly alleviate the "mask shortage" difficulties faced by our country's current "epidemic prevention" and "resumption of work" battles.

Under the pressure of full-load inspection work, the staff of the inspection center of Beijing Municipal Institute of Labor Protection worked overtime to complete thousands of batches of mask inspection tasks, which provided strong technical support for the development and production of masks and other anti-epidemic materials in the country, and the national epidemic prevention work.
